So the reading was a great success!  We had an incredible, fun, and hysterical cast that really made the week fly by.
Jeff & Tom’s music is spectacular and fits in beautifully with the four original songs from the film.  Gary, who is a riot, is so much fun to work with and made us sound really good.  Kate did a wonderful job staging the production numbers.  Sam & Jeff’s script just kept getting better and sharper every day and as a director Sam always makes you feel safe, lets you be heard and allows you to truly shine.
The cast was a great meeting of old friends (there is no way to stop the laughter when you put Evan and I together, we felt like delinquents in math class stifling laughs so the teacher doesn’t yell at us.)  Also met some new folk that that I can’t wait to work with again.
I normally am not a huge fan of “traditional” musical theatre, but I have been completely charmed by Summer Stock.  What can I say, the show was/is great from beginning to end.  Guests were excited, Company was excited and if there is any justice in this world it will see the light of day.
