After five years, our boy Bob finally got around to checking out the mixes we’ve been putting together.  (Better late than never, right?)  As luck would have it, it seems he likes them.  Really likes them.  So much so, in fact, that he’s gone and made a mix of his very own.

Bob has a massive, eclectic collection of tunes.  He’s a living, breathing, free-form radio station — whipping between genres, decades, artists with the greatest of ease.  I am pleased to present his first mix for the site.  Without further ado, I’ll let him introduce things:

I love music.  All kinds of music.  Seriously, ALL kinds.  I am also a total nerd for background.  Who wrote what?  What was their inspirado?  When was it recorded?  Which soon-to-be-famous-in-their-own-right-singer is doing backup?  It’s all interesting to me.  The truth of it is, sometimes the best music has the most interesting story.  My mission is to put together mixes that tackle a single subject by pulling music from every genre and every corner of the globe (or at least Jersey), and then through the liner notes, give you the background on each tune.  Not too much, just the juicy stuff.

“The Eyes Have It”  Is the first in (what I hope to be) a series of thematic mixes.  I, of course, would love to hear feedback — or better yet — let the mixes open the door to further discussion.  These, I know, are pipe dreams… but I dare to dream.

ShuffleThis is a fantastic website that I am woefully late to be truly enjoying.  After catching some of what Kev & Ire have put together, which rocked my socks off, I was truly inspired to whip up my own thing — and I hope, in turn, someone listening to my mix might be inspired to do their own.  Let’s fill this joint up!
